"Flirt" was one of the brands of biscuits made by Lefevre-Utile, who gave Mucha a number of commissions over the years. This poster was meant as a point of sale display. It was originally mounted on cardboard with holes for hanging. Although outwardly decorous, the scene is full of ardent intimacy, and represents one of Mucha's most romantic concepts. References to Lefevre-Utile appear in multiple places in the image: is initials decorate the coy maiden's dress, the company name is on the the arch of the wrought iron gate, and there is a quarter slice of a biscuit on the lower left hand corner.
